The difference

A rate lock and a fee you can read before you send

A fixed rate is only as useful as the window attached to it. Ghostex’s Terms give that window as a number: the amount you will receive is locked for 30 minutes from the moment the order is created. The lock holds provided your deposit is sent within that time and matches the amount on the order (Terms s.8). If your coins sit on an exchange that holds withdrawals for review, you can judge whether 30 minutes is enough before you create the order.

StealthEX’s current terms and FAQ, read on 26 September 2026, give no lock time for fixed-rate swaps. Its terms note that the executed rate may differ from the indicative rate shown when a trade starts. If you plan a fixed-rate swap there, look for any time limit on the order screen before you pay.

Floating orders follow different rules. StealthEX’s FAQ says a floating exchange fails when the rate moves more than 5% up or down. A new rate or a refund is then agreed with its support. On Ghostex a floating order settles at the market rate when Executor runs the swap after your deposit confirms. The payout can end above or below the estimate marked ≈. A deposit that arrives late or in a different amount is executed at the market rate or refunded automatically, and the order page shows which. The guide to fixed vs floating rates explains when each one fits.

The fee reads the same way on every Ghostex order: 0.48% of what you send, inside the quote, with the payout network fee covered. On a Litecoin to Monero swap of 2 LTC that is 0.0096 LTC; on 10 LTC, 0.048 LTC. StealthEX’s terms describe a variable percentage service fee plus network fees. The one figure on its site, a 0.4% standard fee, sits in the affiliate FAQ next to a calculator that labels it adjustable. That can come out below 0.48% on some swaps, so compare the final amount on both quotes.

Honest trade-offs

Where StealthEX is the better choice

StealthEX suits some swaps better, and its own pages say why. Its partners page gives 0.4% as the standard fee, though labelled adjustable. It lists 2000+ coins with fiat purchases and a mobile app, and its XMR to BTC pair is live, so Monero can leave as well as arrive. Its FAQ also sets no cap on floating-rate exchanges.

  • Possibly a lower fee. Its partners page gives 0.4% as the standard fee, under Ghostex’s 0.48%, though it is labelled adjustable.
  • More coins, fiat and an app. 2000+ coins, fiat purchases through third-party providers (its FAQ says they require KYC above $700 per user) and a mobile app.
  • Swaps out of Monero. Its XMR to BTC pair page is live. Ghostex only pays out XMR and cannot take it in.
  • No cap on floating swaps. Its FAQ sets no maximum for floating-rate exchanges; Ghostex orders top out at about $10,000,000.

How to switch

Switching from StealthEX: four steps

The order form above works the same for every pair, and switching comes down to four things. Choose a route and a rate type, and add the address that receives your coins. Pay the exact amount on the stated network (inside 30 minutes on a fixed rate). Then watch Sentinel, Executor and Courier finish it on the order page.

  1. 1. Choose a route

Start from LTC to XMR, BTC to XMR or ETH to BTC, or set any pair in the form. Fixed locks the amount for 30 minutes; floating follows the market.
  2. 2. Add the payout address

Enter the address that will receive the coins you are buying. A refund address is optional on every live pair; add one when your coins sit on an exchange.
  3. 3. Pay the order

From your wallet, transfer the exact amount, on the network stated, to the deposit address shown on your order. On a fixed rate, do it inside the 30 minutes.
  4. 4. Watch it finish

Sentinel credits the deposit after the required confirmations, Executor swaps and Courier sends the payout. Each stage appears on the order page.

FAQ

StealthEX alternative: questions

Is Ghostex affiliated with StealthEX?

No. Ghostex and StealthEX are unrelated services, and StealthEX has not endorsed or sponsored this page. Its details here come from its public pages as they read on 26 September 2026.

How long does Ghostex lock a fixed rate?

For 30 minutes from order creation. Send the stated amount within that window and you receive the amount locked on the order. StealthEX’s current terms and FAQ do not state a lock time.

Does Ghostex ever ask for ID?

No. Ghostex never asks for identity documents, seed phrases or private keys, and there is no account. Automated analysis of public blockchain data may delay, decline or refund an order connected with a prohibited use, as section 6 of the Terms explains.

What happens to a floating order if the market moves?

The payout follows the market. It is calculated at the rate when your swap executes, after the deposit confirms, so it can be higher or lower than the ≈ estimate. If you need a known amount, choose a fixed rate and send within 30 minutes.

Where do refunds go?

To the refund address you gave or, if you left it empty, back to the address you paid from. The refund comes in the same asset and on the same network, minus the network cost of sending it. Paying from an exchange account? Give a refund address of your own, so the refund does not depend on that exchange crediting it.
