The difference
Small swaps: a $10 minimum
A small first order is the cheapest way to see how a swap service behaves before you trust it with more. It shows how quickly the deposit is credited, whether the payout matches the quote and how clearly the order page reports each step. That habit is part of our checklist on how to test a service with a small amount. Ghostex accepts swaps from about $10 in USD value. The form shows the exact minimum in coin units for the pair you choose, such as Bitcoin to Monero.
Godex’s FAQ ties its minimum to the miner fee each blockchain charges. Its terms go further: users are advised not to use the service for orders of $30 or less (terms s.5.3). A test swap under $30 is therefore one that Godex’s own terms advise against.
The fee on a small order stays proportional: 0.48% is about $0.05 on a $10 swap and $0.12 on $25, already inside the quote. The payout network fee is covered by Ghostex. The fee your wallet pays to broadcast the deposit goes to the network and is not part of the 0.48%.
Refunds matter more on small orders, where a claim process can cost more attention than the amount is worth. Ghostex refunds a failed order automatically, with no request to file, minus the network cost of the return. Godex’s terms make a refund possible when the order shows the status “Overdue” and give users a maximum of 90 days to claim. They also set a minimum refund amount at Godex’s discretion and rule out refunds for deposits sent without a required extra ID (terms s.5).
On the rate lock the two are level. Godex fixes the rate for 30 minutes from the moment the transaction is created (terms s.4). Ghostex locks a fixed rate for 30 minutes from order creation (Terms s.8). Godex’s terms add that a market move of 3% or more counts as dramatic, in which case an order may take longer or be returned (s.4.1).
Honest trade-offs
Where Godex is the better choice
For some users Godex remains the stronger option. Its public coin API lists 960 entries against Ghostex’s 43 assets, and XMR can be swapped out as well as in. Its FAQ sets no exchange limit, where Ghostex stops at about $10,000,000. It also offers an Android app, and its terms date from December 2020.

How to switch

Transfer the exact order amount within the 30-minute fixed-rate window, as long as the one Godex uses. Then check confirmations, swap and payout on the order page.
