Why swap USDC to XMR
USDC is issued on many chains, so your balance may sit on Ethereum, on Solana, or on a layer 2 such as Base or Arbitrum. Ghostex accepts USDC deposits on seven of those networks, and all seven appear on Circle's list of supported chains. - USDC cannot pay its own fee. On Ethereum, gas is paid in ETH. On Solana, a transaction has a base fee of 5,000 lamports per signature, paid in SOL. On the other five networks, keep some of that network's gas token next to the USDC.
- Solana's 32 confirmations are quick. Solana cut its mainnet slot target to 300 ms in August 2026, so 32 slots usually pass in about 10 to 20 seconds; slot times do fluctuate.
- USDC on BNB Smart Chain is payout-only. Ghostex can send USDC on BNB Smart Chain as the result of another swap, but cannot accept it as a deposit, so it is not in the table.

- Payout: Monero produces a block about every 2 minutes, and a wallet treats newly received XMR as locked for 10 blocks, about 20 minutes.

Common errors
USDC to XMR mistakes to avoid
Ethereum in the form, Base in the wallet
Six of the seven networks share the 0x address format, so nothing stops a wallet from paying an Ethereum USDC order from Base or Arbitrum. That is a wrong-network deposit: no automatic refund, and recovery cannot be promised.
A refund address on another network
A refund returns as USDC on the network you paid from. Pay from Solana and the refund needs a Solana address; if you enter an exchange address, check that the exchange accepts USDC on that network.
An amount that does not match
Send the exact USDC amount on the order. A shorter or larger deposit cannot use the fixed rate, so it is executed at the market rate or refunded automatically.

Ethereum needs 12 confirmations, about 2.4 minutes, and Solana 32, about 10 to 20 seconds. Ghostex waits for 20 confirmations on Base, Arbitrum and Optimism, 30 on Polygon and 12 on Avalanche. Most orders finish in 5 to 30 minutes overall.
Do I need ETH to send USDC on Ethereum?
Yes, from your own wallet. Ethereum gas is paid in ETH, not in USDC, so a wallet holding only USDC cannot send the deposit. On Solana you need a little SOL instead, and on the other networks their own gas token.
Can I pay with USDC on BNB Smart Chain?
No. On Ghostex, USDC on BNB Smart Chain is receive-only: you can get it as a payout, but an order cannot take it as a deposit. Move it to one of the seven listed networks first.
Where does a refund go?
Back to you as USDC on the network you sent it from: to your refund address if you entered one, otherwise to the address that sent the deposit. The network cost of returning it is deducted, and no Ghostex fee is kept.
Do I need an account or KYC?
No. There is no sign-up and no identity check: an order needs a Monero address, the USDC amount and, if you want, a refund address. Name, email, phone and ID are not asked for at any step.
