Swap Ethereum to Solana
Send ETH on Ethereum mainnet and receive native SOL at your Solana address, with no bridge, no wrapped token and nothing to claim on the other side. Ghostex waits for 12 Ethereum confirmations, about 2.4 minutes. The 0.48% fee is inside the quote, and there is no account or KYC.
Pair details
ETH to SOL at a glance
This order crosses from the EVM world to Solana, so the two address fields take two different formats: a Solana address for the payout and, if you add one, a 0x address for the refund.
- You send
- ETH on Ethereum mainnet (Ghostex code ETH). ETH on Arbitrum One, Base, Optimism, zkSync Era or BNB Smart Chain is listed as a separate asset.
- You receive
- Native SOL on Solana (code SOL), the coin every Solana fee is paid in. Not Wrapped SOL, and not a bridged token.
- Payout address
- A Solana wallet address: base58 text of 32 to 44 characters, with no 0x in front. Copy it from your wallet’s Solana account.
- Memo or tag
- None. The ETH deposit and the SOL payout both go to the address alone.
- Refund address
- Optional, and in 0x format, because a refund goes back as ETH on Ethereum. Your Solana address does not fit this field.
- Limits
- About $10 to $10,000,000 in USD value per swap; the form shows the exact range in ETH.
- Rate
- Fixed and held for 30 minutes from order creation, or floating and set when the swap executes. The 0.48% fee is inside both.
- Typical time
- 5 to 30 minutes for most orders. The 12 Ethereum confirmations take about 2.4 minutes; a Solana slot lasts 300 ms.
How it works
From Ethereum to a Solana wallet in three steps
-
1. Copy your Solana address
Open the Solana account in your wallet, tap Receive and copy the address it shows. For an exchange account, use its SOL deposit page with the Solana network selected.
-
2. Send ETH from Ethereum
Enter the ETH amount, paste the Solana address, pick a fixed or floating rate and, if you pay from an exchange, add a 0x refund address. Send the exact amount; Sentinel counts 12 confirmations.
-
3. SOL lands in seconds
Executor makes the swap and Courier sends native SOL. If the address has never held SOL, this first transfer creates its account on Solana, and the wallet can pay its own fees from then on.
Use case
Why swap ETH to SOL
Every Solana transaction has a fee payer: an ordinary wallet account that must hold enough SOL to cover the fee (Solana documentation). Sending a token, using an app and even the first transfer out of a new wallet all depend on it. When your crypto sits on Ethereum as ETH, this order turns part of it into SOL at your Solana address in one step, without an exchange account and without a bridge.
It also suits moving a larger position from Ethereum to Solana. Orders run from about $10 to $10,000,000 in value, and a fixed rate shows the exact SOL amount before you send anything, so you know what arrives while the ETH is still in your wallet.
Once the SOL is there, you can hold it, spend it on fees or swap it onward from the same wallet: SOL to BTC pays bitcoin on the Bitcoin network, and SOL to XMR pays Monero.
Swap or bridge
A swap, not a bridge: no wrapped ETH, nothing to claim
A bridge moves a token from one chain to another; it does not change what the token is. ETH bridged to Solana arrives as a token that stands for ETH, usually backed by coins locked on Ethereum, and it carries the bridge’s own risks (the guide to wrapped and native crypto covers them). To end up with SOL, you would then trade that token on Solana, which is another transaction with a fee payer that needs SOL. An empty wallet has none, so unless the app pays that fee for you, you need SOL to get SOL. Some bridges also ask for a claim transaction on the destination chain first.
This order is one ordinary ETH transfer. You do not connect a wallet to a website or sign anything on Solana, and any wallet or exchange withdrawal can pay the deposit. What arrives is native SOL, the coin that pays the fees, so the wallet is ready to use. A bridge still makes sense when you want ETH itself on Solana for an app that uses it. Some cross-chain services put a bridge and a swap behind one screen; before using one, check which token it delivers and who pays the Solana fee.
| Route | What you do | What arrives | SOL needed first? | What you pay |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bridge, then a trade on Solana | Bridge from a connected wallet, then trade on Solana; some bridges add a claim step | Bridged ETH, then SOL after the trade | Yes, unless an app pays the Solana fee | Ethereum gas, the bridge fee, Solana fees and the trading fee |
| Exchange account | Deposit ETH, sell it for SOL, withdraw on Solana | Native SOL | No | Trading and withdrawal fees; the exchange’s account and ID rules apply |
| Ghostex swap | One ETH transfer to your order’s deposit address | Native SOL | No | 0.48% inside the quote plus your Ethereum gas; payout fee covered |
Addresses
Two address formats on one order
The two sides of this pair use unrelated address families. Ethereum builds an address from a public key made with the Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm: the last 20 bytes of its Keccak-256 hash, written as 0x and 40 hex characters (ethereum.org). A Solana wallet address is an Ed25519 public key, a 32-byte value displayed as a base58 string (Solana documentation). A wallet that supports both chains therefore keeps a separate account for each and shows two different addresses, and neither one works in place of the other.
In plain words, a Solana address:
- uses only letters and digits, with no 0x and no network prefix of any kind;
- never contains the digit 0, a capital O, a capital I or a lowercase l, which base58 leaves out because they are easy to confuse;
- is 32 to 44 characters long, and a wallet address is almost always 43 or 44;
- treats upper and lower case as different characters, so a single changed letter is a different address.
The payout field checks that what you paste decodes to a 32-byte Solana address, and when it recognises another format, such as an EVM (0x…) address, it names that network and asks for a Solana one. What it cannot see is what kind of account sits behind a valid address. A token account, a token mint and a program derived address, which has no private key at all, look just like a wallet address. Copy the payout address from your wallet’s Receive screen rather than from a block explorer page. A payout cannot be recalled once it is broadcast (Terms, section 11).
| Field | Network | What it looks like | Where to copy it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Payout (SOL) | Solana | Base58, 32 to 44 characters, no 0x | The Solana account in your wallet, or an exchange’s SOL deposit page on the Solana network |
| Refund (ETH, optional) | Ethereum | 0x followed by 40 hex characters | An Ethereum wallet you control; leave it empty to refund the address you paid from |
Before you create the order
Native SOL out, mainnet ETH in
Native SOL is the balance of your wallet account itself, the coin that pays transaction fees and account deposits on Solana. Wrapped SOL is SOL held in a token account for the native mint, So11111111111111111111111111111111111111112, so that programs can treat it like any other token; closing that token account releases the SOL to an address you choose (Solana token program). Ghostex lists Wrapped SOL as a separate asset, code WSOL, alongside USDT and USDC on Solana. This order pays native SOL. If an app later asks for WSOL, you can wrap some of your SOL in your own wallet; the difference is explained in wrapped vs native crypto.
On the paying side, the order takes ether on Ethereum mainnet only. ETH on Arbitrum One, Base, Optimism and zkSync Era is the gas coin of those networks and a separate Ghostex asset, and ETH on BNB Smart Chain is a BEP-20 token. Sent to this order, any of them is the wrong asset or network: automatic refunds do not apply, and recovery is not guaranteed (Terms, section 12).
New to Solana
A new Solana wallet: what the first SOL does
Ethereum lets any address hold any balance. Solana adds one rule worth knowing before you move the SOL on.
Every account on Solana must hold a minimum balance, proportional to the data it stores, to stay on-chain. The runtime still calls it the rent-exempt minimum, but ongoing rent collection is disabled, and the documentation describes it as a refundable storage deposit. The formula is (data size + 128 bytes) × 3,480 lamports per byte-year × 2 years. An ordinary wallet stores no data, so its minimum is 128 × 3,480 × 2 = 890,880 lamports, or 0.00089088 SOL, at 1,000,000,000 lamports to the SOL.
A brand-new address has no account yet. Sending SOL to it for the first time creates one, owned by the System Program, and all new accounts must be rent-exempt. The smallest Ghostex order pays out many times that minimum, so an empty wallet you have never used can take the payout. You do not need to hold SOL beforehand, and Ghostex pays the fee for sending it.
The rule matters when you send the SOL on. A balance may drop to exactly zero or stay at or above the minimum, but it cannot end anywhere in between: a transfer that would leave, say, 0.0005 SOL behind fails with an insufficient-funds-for-rent error (account runtime). Either keep at least 0.00089088 SOL in the wallet or empty it completely. Each transfer also costs a base fee of 5,000 lamports per signature (Solana fees), plus any priority fee your wallet adds.
Tokens are the other reason to keep some SOL. To receive an SPL token such as USDC, a wallet first needs a token account for it, and creating one takes a small amount of SOL to make it rent-exempt (Solana token program).
Fees and timing
ETH to SOL fees and timing
The 0.48% fee is taken from the ETH you send and is already inside the quote; the live SOL amount appears in the form.
| You send | 0.48% fee, inside the quote |
|---|---|
| 0.1 ETH | 0.00048 ETH |
| 1 ETH | 0.0048 ETH |
| 10 ETH | 0.048 ETH |
About 2.4 minutes on Ethereum
12 confirmations × 12-second Ethereum slots, counted after your transaction is first included. A deposit sent with a low fee can wait longer; see why a transaction stays pending.
300 ms per Solana slot
Solana mainnet has run 300 ms slots since the reduction of 25 August 2026, so the SOL payout reaches your wallet seconds after Courier sends it.
Who pays which fee
Your wallet pays the Ethereum gas for the deposit, in ETH; it goes to the network, is not refunded and is not part of the 0.48%. Ghostex covers the Solana fee for sending your payout, already reflected in the quote.
Pitfalls
ETH to SOL mistakes to avoid
Pasting the 0x address as the payout
Habit from Ethereum. The form flags an EVM address in the Solana field, and the fix is to copy the address from your wallet’s Solana account, not to look for a way around the check.
An address copied from a block explorer
Token accounts, mints and program addresses pass the same format check as a wallet. SOL sent to one may be impossible to recover, so take the payout address from your wallet’s Receive screen.
Paying with ETH from a layer 2
ETH on Arbitrum, Base, Optimism or zkSync Era carries the same ticker but is another Ghostex asset. Check that your wallet’s network selector says Ethereum before you confirm the deposit.
Choosing Wrapped SOL by accident
Wrapped SOL is a token and cannot pay a Solana fee until it is unwrapped. Keep the receive side on Solana (SOL) unless an app specifically needs WSOL.
An exchange withdrawal that arrives short
Some exchanges take their fee out of the amount you type. A fixed rate needs the exact ETH on your order within 30 minutes; any other amount runs at the market rate or is refunded automatically.
Leaving dust when you move the SOL on
A later transfer that would leave less than 0.00089088 SOL, but more than zero, in your wallet fails. Keep that much behind, or empty the wallet completely.
Five agents on one order. Oracle prices ETH against SOL, Router picks the route, Sentinel counts the 12 Ethereum confirmations, Executor makes the swap and Courier sends the SOL, or the ETH back if the order cannot complete (meet the five). A fixed rate shows the exact SOL amount before you send and holds it for 30 minutes from order creation; a floating rate settles at the market price when the swap executes.
FAQ
Ethereum to Solana questions
Can I receive the SOL at my 0x Ethereum address?
No. SOL goes to a Solana address: base58 text of 32 to 44 characters, with no 0x. A wallet that supports both chains shows a separate Solana address, and the form flags a 0x address pasted into the payout field.
Do I need SOL in my wallet before the swap?
No. The first SOL sent to a new address creates its account on Solana, and Ghostex covers the fee for sending the payout. After that, the SOL you received pays your own Solana fees.
How long does ETH to SOL take?
Most orders finish in 5 to 30 minutes. Ghostex waits for 12 Ethereum confirmations, about 2.4 minutes at 12-second slots. Solana slots last 300 ms, so the SOL reaches your wallet seconds after Courier sends it.
Is the payout SOL or Wrapped SOL?
Native SOL, the coin that pays Solana fees (Ghostex code SOL). Wrapped SOL (WSOL) is a separate asset in the form, as are USDT and USDC on Solana.
Can I pay with ETH on Arbitrum, Base or another layer 2?
Not on this order, which takes ETH on Ethereum mainnet only. ETH on Arbitrum One, Base, Optimism, zkSync Era and BNB Smart Chain are separate Ghostex assets; sent here, they count as the wrong network and get no automatic refund.
Why does sending my SOL on fail with an insufficient funds for rent error?
The transfer would leave your wallet with more than zero but less than Solana’s minimum balance for an account, 0.00089088 SOL for an ordinary wallet. Send a little less so that amount stays, or empty the wallet completely.
Where does a refund go?
Back to Ethereum as ETH, minus the network cost of sending it: to the 0x refund address you entered, or to the address you paid from. A Solana address cannot receive it.
Do I need an account or KYC?
No. The order needs the ETH amount, a Solana payout address and, if you want, a 0x refund address. There is no account to create, and no name, email, phone or ID is asked for.
